On November 21, 2025, the kick-off meeting for the revision of the "Test Method for Friction Coefficient of Fasteners" T/CASE 74-2025 standard was successfully held in Songjiang, Shanghai. Representatives of Hongji Group were invited to attend the meeting, and their technical representative, Mr. Dietmar Anton Schmidt, delivered a technical presentation on the "Overseas 14.9 Grade Fastener Friction Coefficient Test Specification."

Mr. Dietmar Anton Schmidt is employed by Relyans Max Inc., which was acquired by Hongji Group from Germany's Kamax Group in August 2025. As a leading enterprise in the American automotive fastener industry, the company possesses extensive technical expertise and mature delivery capabilities in the fields of ultra-high-strength bolts and engine-critical components. It has long served clients such as General Motors, Ford, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW.

During the meeting, Mr. Schmidt provided a detailed explanation of the control requirements for key parameters such as washer hardness, tightening speed, and engagement length when testing ultra-high-strength fasteners according to international standards like ISO 16047. He emphasized that friction coefficient tests should ideally be conducted using actual components to accurately simulate assembly conditions and ensure the reliability of test results. Additionally, he shared Relyans Max's friction coefficient database and mature quality management processes established through serving top-tier clients in North America. These practical experiences will serve as valuable references for the development of the T/CASE 74-2025 standard.

It is worth noting that Mr. Schmidt was among the first group of technical experts dispatched from the German Kamax headquarters to their U.S. facility, later settling there long-term. He possesses extensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the technical development and assembly application of ultra-high-strength bolts and engine-critical components. At the invitation of Hongji Group's Chinese team, Mr. Schmidt visited Hongji's Chinese plant in November 2025, engaging in technical exchanges and knowledge-sharing with sister plants. This visit initiated the systematic transfer of these valuable expertise to Hongji Metal's bolt production base in Taicang, Suzhou, China. This effort aims to create a new value proposition of "German technology, Chinese manufacturing, and local services" for clients in the Chinese market, thereby accelerating the technological accumulation cycle for Chinese brands in the high-end fastener sector.
